For Milwaukee Bucks fans, the 2014 NBA Draft can’t come soon enough. At present, the Bucks are two games below Philadelphia 76ers, putting them in prime position for the most ping pong balls and a chance at the No. 1 pick. The current roster is young, versatile and can be exciting in the open court. Milwaukee would be wise to select a player who complements this style versus slowing it down.

Each game the Milwaukee Bucks‘ preseason trade of Brandon Jennings for Brandon Knight and Khris Middleton keeps looking better. Not only has Middleton been a pleasant surprise, but the Bucks may have gotten their point guard of the future in Knight.
Expectations were not super high and a rough November got Knight off on the wrong foot with Bucks fans. Since then he has built on each month to the point recently where he is competing with the top guards in the league. Not only has he shown improvement over the course of the year, but his increase in productivity from a year ago is quite impressive.
The future is now for the Milwaukee Bucks. Presently in tank mode and scouting high lottery picks, the team may also need to fill in some holes via free agency. Soon to be unrestricted free agent, Shawn Marion, may not seem a logical fit for the Bucks and Milwaukee may not be his dream free agency destination, but there are benefits if the two come together.
The Bucks are currently developing their frontcourt of the future with Larry Sanders, John Henson and Giannis Antetokounmpo. All three are young and need a mentor, something Marion could provide in addition to leadership, another area a team as young as the Bucks are seriously lacking. Marion could take Henson under his wing and nurture his development as a two-way player as well as keep an eye on Sanders and his emotional outbursts.
The future is now for the Milwaukee Bucks as they look ahead to the 2014 NBA Draft. The team is projecting to finish dead last, resulting in at worst a top-three pick in a loaded draft. There is a good chance center Joel Embiid will be available for selection, and many want the Bucks to select him. If this happens, the Bucks should trade John Henson for the right to select guard Dante Exum later in the first round.
If the Bucks draft another center, they will have too many cooks in the frontcourt kitchen. Larry Sanders is starting a long-term contract, so Henson is the right man to move. In his second year, he has come into his own, averaging 11.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. This is great value for a team slotted to pick in the No. 8-10 range. This is where Exum is currently projected to land.
The Milwaukee Bucks are in full tank mode and may end with the worst record in the league. This year’s top draft choices expect to be future stars and top prizes for teams that are tanking. One of those projected prizes is Kentucky power forward Julius Randle.
Entering this season, Randle was a top prospect and as a freshman he is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds a game. This, despite the constant double-teams he faces each time he steps onto the court. However, there are concerns with Randle. He will need to improve his offense in order to dominate in the NBA as he has at the college level. On the defensive side, Randle has not been impactful, averaging less than a steal and block a game. Add in his high turnover rate (3.1 a game) and you start to question whether he is a sure thing or potential bust.
