College Football week 2: #9 Notre Dame (-12.5) at Virginia
Is Notre Dame for real? I think we’ve all seen this play out in the past. After their impressive week 1 let’s see what they have coming up in their match with Virginia.
The line opened at -10 and is now all the way to -12.5. That’s quite a shift and tells me that the golden dome faithful are jumping high to get back on the wagon. Before you decide to get on, consider this. Last week Notre Dame got to play at home, this week will be on the road against a Virginia team that lost to a team many expect to be really good (UCLA) on the road. This wouldn’t sway my decision too much; however, the injuries will. Notre Dame lost running back Tarean Folston, defensive tackle Jarron Jones and cornerback Shaun Crawford. That’s a lot of holes.

To recap, Notre Dame will be on the road against a good opponent, down three key players and a line that continues to push them to be more of a favorite, increasing value for anyone considering Virginia. I don’t usually suggest waiting on a line, but in this case it may be worth to see if it pushes out a full two touchdowns. For me, I’m good taking the points and expect Notre Dame to win by 6.
Pick: Virginia (+12.5)
